Wells, Jones Earn All-Region Recognition

GRAND LAKE, Col. - Randolph-Macon senior midfielder Hannah Jones (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) and junior goalkeeper Elicia Wells (Richmond, Va./Trinity) were named to the All-Chesapeake Region Second Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Both were previously named to the 2019 All-ODAC First Team.

Jones led the team and was ninth in the ODAC with 45 goals. She had at least one goal in every game and tallied multiple goals in 18 of 19 contests. Hannah had season highs with four goals and six points in a 17-6 ODAC win at Virginia Wesleyan. He had three goals in the ODAC Championship Game at Washington and Lee. She also topped the Yellow Jackets with 52 points. Hannah was second on the club with 73 draw controls and fourth with 19 ground balls. For her career, Hannah appeared in 72 games with 58 starts. She had 122 goals, 20 assists and 142 points. Hannah amassed 194 draw controls, the third-highest total in program history. She also had 71 ground balls and 42 caused turnovers.

Wells led the ODAC in save percentage at 48.1% and was second in the conference with 167 saves. She started all 19 games and logged nearly 895 minutes of action. Wells had a season-best 20 saves in a 20-10 win at Meredith. She matched that save total in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament, a thrilling 13-12 victory over Roanoke. Wells had 32 saves in two ODAC tourney contests and was named to the ODAC All-Tournament Team. Wells was third on the team with 21 ground balls.

Under head coach MK Geratowski, the R-MC women's lacrosse team went 12-7 overall and 8-1 in ODAC play. The Yellow Jackets had an eight-game win streak after their ODAC Tournament semifinal win over Roanoke. R-MC finished second in the ODAC standings for the fifth straight season and own a 39-5 conference mark over those five years. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the ODAC title game for the fifth consecutive time as well. R-MC has recorded double-figure wins for seven straight seasons.
