R-MC Women's Soccer Falls to VWC in ODAC Quarterfinals

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The seventh-seeded Randolph-Macon women's soccer team had five shots on goal, but could not get one in the net in a 3-0 loss to second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday evening in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament.

The Yellow Jackets finish the season at 7-8-3.

Sophomore Mary Virginia Kelley (Midlothian, Va./James River) and freshman Kasey Booth (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) both had two shots on goal for the Yellow Jackets.

The Marlins (11-4-3) were able to score in the eighth minute to take an early 1-0 lead.

VWC added a goal in the 62nd minute to take a 2-0 advantage. The Marlins put in their final goal in the 88th minute to make the final 3-0.

Senior Lindsay Zachman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) had one save in the first half for the Yellow Jackets, while freshman Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) added two saves in the second half for R-MC.
