R-MC Women's Soccer to Travel to Roanoke for ODAC Quarterfinals

ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team will be the No. 6 seed in the 2017 ODAC Championship and will travel to third-seeded Roanoke for a quarterfinal match on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets are 9-6-1 overall and 6-4 in conference play. The Maroons are 10-6-2 overall and 7-2-1 in ODAC contests.

The teams met in Ashland in a non-conference match on Sept. 16, with R-MC pulling out a 1-0 victory. Sophomore Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) had the lone goal in the 66th minute. The Yellow Jackets held a 16-11 advantage in shots. Sophomore Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville, Va.) recorded three saves for R-MC. It was the first of six shutouts for the R-MC defense this season.
