R-MC Women’s Soccer to host SU at 3:30 pm on Wednesday

ASHLAND, Va. – The second-seeded Randolph-Macon women's soccer team will face No. 7 Shenandoah in the quarterfinals of the 2018 ODAC Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. on the R-MC Soccer Field.

The Yellow Jackets tied for first in the ODAC standings with Bridgewater and Lynchburg. Through tie-breakers, the Eagles earned the top seed and the Hornets became the No. 3 seed.

R-MC and SU met in Ashland during the regular season on Oct. 10. The Yellow Jackets tallied four first-half goals in a 4-0 victory over the Hornets.

The Yellow Jackets continue to lead the nation in Goals-Against Average at 0.14. R-MC has allowed just two goals in 14 matches. Freshman goalkeeper Edye Carr (Clinton, N.C./Clinton) is second in the country in save percentage at .941. The Yellow Jackets lead the nation in shots per game at 31.7.

R-MC has won 12 ODAC titles, second only to Lynchburg with 15. The Yellow Jackets won 12 of the first 14 women's soccer crowns, with the last championship coming in 1996.

The ODAC Tournament kicks off on Monday evening, with No. 9 Randolph at No. 8 Ferrum in a first-round match-up.
