    Senior forward Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) recorded three shots and had a pair of shots on goal in the first half, and senior Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) registered four saves in the first 45 minutes, as the 13th-ranked Randolph-Macon women’s soccer team saw its record-setting season come to an end in a 4-0 decision at top-ranked Messiah on Sunday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Smalls and Czyzewski Send R-MC Through in NCAA Tournament Opening Round

    GRANTHAM, Pa. – The R-MC Women’s Soccer team kicked off their NCAA Tournament campaign with a 2-0 win over Haverford on Saturday.  Sophomores Tyria Smalls (Fredericksburg, Va. / Massaponax) and Nicole Czyzewski (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) grabbed the goals for the Jackets with assists coming from junior Casey Kent (Fairfax, Va. / Fairfax) and senior Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va. / Halifax County) fresh off her ODAC Player of the Year award.  Kent and Bauman led the way for R-MC with four shots and two shots respectively, both recording two shots on goal.  The Jackets defense continued their impressive run of form over the course of the season keeping their 15th clean sheet of the season.  Sophomore goalkeeper Edye Carr (Clinton, N.C. / Clinton) had an impressive showing in the second half recording six saves to keep the Fords at bay.  The Jackets will advance to face #1 Messiah on Sunday.

    Sophomore goalkeeper Edye Carr (Clinton, N.C./Clinton) saved the fourth penalty kick by Virginia Wesleyan, and sophomore midfielder Maddie Bauman (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) put the final PK into the top right corner of the net as 14th-ranked and top-seeded Randolph-Macon claimed its 13th ODAC Women’s Soccer Championship after playing to a scoreless tie with the third-seeded Marlins on Sunday afternoon.

    Senior forward Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) scored two goals, had an assist, and was fouled in the box to force a penalty kick, all in the second half, as the 14th-ranked and top-seeded Randolph-Macon women’s soccer team defeated eighth-seeded and defending conference champion Lynchburg 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the 2019 ODAC Tournament.

    SALEM, Va – The Randolph-Macon Women’s soccer team recorded a big ODAC victory today with a 1-0 win over the Roanoke Maroons.  Junior midfielder Casey Kent (Fairfax, Va. / Fairfax) recorded the only goal of the match when she converted a spot kick in the 55th minute of the match.  Senior forward Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va. / Halifax County) was also a major contributor on the day while the entirety of the R-MC midfield and backline put in impressive shifts.  This win moved the Jackets to 11-0 on the season and they also maintained their undefeated conference record at 3-0.

    Senior Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va. / Halifax County) outran much of Bridgewater’s defense and drew the Eagles’ goalie out of position while simultaneously knocking the ball into the net with her opposite foot. The sequence, which came with about seven minutes to go in a defensive game to that point, pushed the Yellow Jackets to 9-0.
