ASHLAND, Va. - Junior Kata Kylliainen (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) earned a pair of victories for the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team in a 131-73 loss to Division I Howard on Friday evening.
Kylliainen won the 1000 Free in 11:09.94. She also finished first in the 100 Back in 1:03.82. Kylliainen teamed with sophomore Lauren McCoy (Dagsboro, Del./Indian River), freshman Caroline Pifer (Lutherville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and sophomore Kacey Pool (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) to take third in the 200 Free Relay in 1:46.49.
Pool placed second in the 200 Free in 2:08.08. She joined freshman Grace Landolt (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley), sophomore Zoe Campbell (Annandale, Va./WT Woodson) and junior Haylie Moore (Lexington, N.C./South Davidson) to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay in 1:56.80.
Landolt was also second in the 100 Free in 57.43. She finished third in the 100 Breast in 1:11.53.
Senior Savannah Pierce (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) finished second in the 1000 Free in 11:46.38.
Senior Megan Granger (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) took second in the 500 Free in 5:47.64. She was third in the 50 Free in 26.83.
McCoy was second in the 100 Back in 1:04.32.
Moore finished third in the 200 Free in 2:09.10.
Campbell took third in 100 Fly in 1:02.66.
Junior Victoria Lewan (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) finished third in the 500 Free in 5:52.87.
Randolph-Macon returns to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 18 for a 1 pm. home meet with Marymount.
