R-MC Women's Tennis Pulls Out ODAC Win vs. Randolph

ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team swept doubles and won five of six singles to register an 8-1 ODAC win over Randolph on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Yellow Jackets grabbed three points in doubles. Sophomore Isabel Wadsworth (Lake Wales, Fla./Lake Wales) and junior Courtney Jenkins (Yorktown, Va./York) dominated at No. 3 with an 8-0 win. Junior Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va./York) and junior Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) posted an 8-4 victory at No. 2. Junior Morgan Fuqua (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) and senior Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary) pulled out a tight 8-7 win at No. 1 doubles to give R-MC a 3-0 lead.
  • Aud would finish first in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4. Jenkins recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6. Yeager would clinch the win for the Yellow Jackets with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at No. 3.
  • Wadsworth won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5 singles. Dantzler pulled out a thrilling 6-1, 3-6, 15-13 win at No. 2. The Wildcats took No. 1 singles to avoid the shutout.
