BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis secured a Old Dominion Athletic Conference win as the Yellow Jackets completed the 8-1 triumph against Bridgewater Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • Randolph-Macon left doubles play with a 3-0 advantage. Senior Stephanie Yeager (Fairfax, Va. / Robinson Secondary) and junior Morgan Fuqua (Richmond, VA / Mills Godwin) earned an 8-7 victory at No. 1 Doubles against Whitney Kiser and Nicole Shifflett, with the R-MC duo earning the tiebreaker 10-6.
  • Juniors Kristin Dantzler (Williamsburg, Va. / York) and Landon Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) scored an 8-3 win at No. 2 Doubles against their Eagle counterparts of Stephanie Barton and Rachel Crawford.
  • At No. 3 Doubles, junior Courtney Jenkins (Yorktown, Va. / York) and sophomore Isabel Wadsworth (Lake Wales, Fla. / Lake Wales) scored the 8-1 win against Alexia Will and Emily Daigneault.
  • With the lead heading into singles, R-MC got a win from Yeager as she defeated Barton 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 Singles as the Yellow Jackets went ahead 4-0. 
  • Bridgewater earned one back as Kiser bested Fuqua at No. 1 Singles, winning 6-1, 6-3.
  • But Randolph-Macon earned the match victory as Dantzler defeated Shifflett 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 Singles.
  • The Yellow Jackets won through the rest of the lineup as well as Aud defeated Crawford in No. 4 Singles 6-1, 6-1.
  • At No. 6 Singles, Jenkins came out ahead of Daigneault with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
  • Wadsworth closed out the lineup with a 6-1, 6-3 win against Will at No. 5 Singles.
