ASHLAND, Va. – With 25 kills in the NCAA Tournament Second Round victory over No. 5 Christopher Newport, Randolph-Macon senior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond Suffolk) broke the program record for career kills with 1,438.

Lowers past the total of 1,422 registered by Mallory Carter (2009-13), now an assistant coach for the Yellow Jackets. Lowers replaced Carter in the 10th spot on the ODAC career kills list.

During her freshman season, Lowers accumulated 215 kills. She climbed to 254 as a sophomore, then ballooned to a school-record 492 during her junior season. Lowers now has 477 kills for the 2015 season.

Randolph-Macon will face host Stockton in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
