FOREST, Va. – There was just one match on last week's schedule for women's volleyball – but it was the most consequential of 2017 to date as the team went to Lexington to face Washington & Lee for sole possession of first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets beat W&L in five sets and as a result of her efforts in the match with the Generals, sophomore Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) garnered her second ODAC Player of the Week honor this season.
Hall killed 20 volleys on 48 attempts in the contest, good for a .333 kill percentage. She also added seven digs and one assist while also making two blocks. All-in-all, she tallied 21.0 points, the most for her in any five-set match this season.
The sophomore leads the league in kills per set with 3.27 for the season. She's sixth in the ODAC for total number of kills with 206.
After being on the road for the entire first half of October, the women's volleyball team returns to Crenshaw this week for four home matches in seven days. They begin the home stand with a match against the ODAC's #3 team, Bridgewater, at 7:00 PM on Wednesday night.
