  • Women’s Volleyball’s Hall Honored By VaSID

    Randolph-Macon Women’s Volleyball junior Miranda Hall () was honored as a Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Second Team member it was announced Friday afternoon. It’s Hall’s second VaSID honor of her career. The All-State team is selected by media relations professionals working at institutions or conferences in Virginia.
  • Two Garner AVCA South Region Honors

    A pair of Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets were recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thursday as the All-South Region teams were announced. Senior Emily Fitzwater (Bealeton, Va./Liberty) and junior Miranda Hall (Mechanicsvile, Va./Hanover) received recognition as members of Honorable Mention squads. Both were honored as members of All-ODAC squads this season as well.
  • Generals Top Women’s Volleyball In ODAC Title Match

    Randolph-Macon Women’s Volleyball had its Old Dominion Athletic Conference title streak snapped at three as the championship trophy will return to Lexington as the Washington and Lee Generals defeated the Yellow Jackets 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Generals won their 16th league title and earn the title back after losing it to Randolph-Macon in 2015. The Yellow Jackets went on to win the next two titles in 2016 and 2017.

    Junior Angela Tender (Manassas, Va./Stone Bridge) tallied 28 assists and sophomore Mackenzie Loewe (Leonardstown, Md./St. Mary’s Ryken) registered 17 digs as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball team recorded a 3-0 victory over No. 4 Virginia Wesleyan in the first semifinal match of the 2018 ODAC Tournament Friday evening in Crenshaw Gym.

    The first-seeded Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball team dispatched the eighth-seeded WildCats in quarterfinal action Wednesday evening in Ashland. The Yellow Jackets move on to face the fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Friday afternoon.

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball split its second day at the Emory National Invitational as the team wraps up the regular season. Randolph-Macon finishes 18-10 overall and finished the conference season on Wednesday with a final record in the ODAC of 11-1.

  • Women’s Volleyball Jumps To Fourth In Regional Poll

    After beginning the season ranked eighth in the NCAA Regional Ranking, Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball has shot to the four spot in the weekly ranking. The rankings are voted on by a regional committee made up of coaches and administrators and use wins, losses and strength of schedule, among other metrics, to place teams within their respective regions. The rankings play a role in how teams are seeded for the NCAA Tournament.
  • R-MC Volleyball Earns Top Seed in ODAC Tourney with 3-0 Win over HU

    Junior Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) recorded 10 kills and 26 total attacks, and junior Angela Tender (Manassas, Va./Stone Bridge) registered 20 assists, as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team blanked Hollins 3-0 Wednesday evening in ODAC action in Crenshaw Gymnasium on Senior Night as the Yellow Jackets secured the top seed in next week's ODAC Tournament.

    Randolph-Macon defeated Emory & Henry but dropped a match to Guilford in a split day at a quad match in Emory, Va. Saturday afternoon. The earlier match of the day, Guilford (8-6, 2-3  ODAC), was a 3-1 loss for the Yellow Jackets (8-6, 4-1 ODAC), while the afternoon match against the Wasps (4-11, 1-4 ODAC) resulted in a 3-1 win.

The win, R-MC’s third of the ODAC season, continues the unbeaten streak in the conference, which has now extended to 42 matches.

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball took a pair of wins in the season-opening Virginia Wesleyan Invitational Friday afternoon. R-MC shut out the competition winning 3-0 against Alverno and 3-0 against Widener in the first weekend of action in Division III Women’s Volleyball. Randolph-Macon is coming off a 23-7 season, in which they swept their competition in the same tournament last season.
  • Women’s Volleyball Chosen Second in ODAC Preseason Poll

    Randolph-Macon women’s volleyball was picked second in this year’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the ODAC head coaches and announced Wednesday afternoon by the league. R-MC finished last season with a 23-7 record, including 11-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for the third season in a row. R-MC also earned an ODAC Tournament Championship, the team’s sixth and the team’s fifth ODAC Regular season title.
