Women’s Volleyball’s Hall Honored By VaSID

DANVILLE, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball junior Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) was honored as a Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Second Team member it was announced Friday afternoon. It's Hall's second VaSID honor of her career. The All-State team is selected by media relations professionals working at institutions or conferences in Virginia.

Hall finished the season with 324 kills at a 3.12 kills per set clip. Both were top 10 marks in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season. Her 324 kills was a season-high thus far in her career. She also added 158 digs and 34 blocks.  For her work in 2018, Hall was also honored as an All-ODAC First Team selection while the American Volleyball Coaches Association named her to its Honorable Mention All-South Region team. Last year in 2017, Hall was honored as a VaSID All-State First Team selection as well as was named the ODAC Player of the Year and was an AVCA Third Team All-American.

Randolph-Macon finished as the ODAC runners-up this season. Finishing with a 20-11 record and an 11-1 record in the ODAC, R-MC appeared in its third straight ODAC Championship.

Eight different programs from across the Commonwealth were represented in the annual awards presented to the best women's volleyball players in the state at the Division II, III or NAIA level. Christopher Newport University led the group with four total selections, while four of the eight schools had at least two players selected. Bridgewater's Rachel Gaston was named the VaSID Player of the Year while Roanoke's Linsey Bailey was named the Rookie of the Year. Marymount's Beth Ann Wilson was named the Coach of the Year.
