INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball is NCAA Tournament bound it found out Monday afternoon. R-MC earned one of 21 at-large spots available in the Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

Randolph-Macon will travel to Christopher Newport for the Newport News Regional this weekend. The Yellow Jackets will be with familiar company at CNU; the Yellow Jackets have faced three of the seven other teams joining them in Newport News. R-MC earned regular season wins against Juniata, Virginia Wesleyan and Marymount (Va.), who were all placed in the Newport News Regional. Also at the Regional will be Trinity (TX.), Hunter, Stevenson as well as the hosts, the Captains of CNU.

R-MC, the third seed in the region, drew Marymount, the sixth seed in the region for a first round contest on Friday at a time to be determined. Trinity will serve as the top seed. The winners of each first round game will advance to the second round on Saturday. Two teams will emerge for Sunday's Regional Final. The winner of that Regional Final will travel to the National Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Nov. 21-23.

R-MC defeated the Saints 3-1 in the Randolph-Macon Invitational back on September 6. Freshman Grace Parker (Andover, N.J. / Pope John XXIII) led the team with 12 kills while sophomore Sydney Koch (Raleigh, N.C. / Sanderson) added five blocks in that match.

Randolph-Macon has traveled to Christopher Newport for the NCAA Tournament before. The Yellow Jackets traveled to Newport News in 2012 where R-MC won a first round match against Gallaudet before falling to the Captains in round two. R-MC also was there in 2011 and 2010.

The Yellow Jackets are 25-8 overall, including an unblemished conference season record at 12-0. R-MC was the runner-up in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship this past weekend. This is R-MC's eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, including second as an at-large pick.
