LEXINGTON, Ky. – Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball sophomore Sydney Koch (Raleigh, N.C. / Sanderson) was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association it was announced Tuesday. The honor follows up the organization naming her to its All-South Region squad last week.
Koch led the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in hitting percentage this season. The sophomore middle blocker hit at a .380 clip this season, finishing with 254 kills, which was third most on the team. She added 100 blocks and 323.5 points, which was second on the team in both categories. Koch earned an All-ODAC First Team nod within the conference as well.
Randolph-Macon recently wrapped up a tremendous season in which the Yellow Jackets went 25-9 and had an undefeated ODAC regular season. R-MC was the ODAC Tournament runner-up and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, the team's fourth appearance in five years.
